To Hold & To Cherish

To Hold & To Cherish

Lucius couldn’t decide his feelings for Vivian. Brave, smart, strong, beautiful. She was more than what he had wished for, but she kept her distance.

Vivian found her true love in Lucius, but she worried being a vampire would hurt him. She ran away.

Work was calling. Lucius had to leave and might never return. Were they destined to be separated without ever confessing love to each other?

Author Note: This is the sequel to book 2, FROM THIS DAY FORWARD.

Excerpt from the book:

Vivian blurted out, “Two women came to visit you at the Fort. They were stopped at the gate.”

“Good. The guards are doing their job.” Captain Fullrich seemed satisfied.

“They made you desserts. The soldiers are eating them now,” Vivian informed him.

“Good. The guards are doing their job.” Captain Fullrich replied exactly the same.

Vivian laughed. “Imagine you being chased by women with desserts.”

“That’s horrifying,” Captain Fullrich frowned.

“Is red bean cake your favorite dessert?” Vivian asked. If yes, she should ask Abby to teach her how to make it.

“Did they both make it?”

“No, one of them made coconut pastries.”

Captain Fullrich wrinkled his nose bridge. “They asked me. I said whatever the first thing that popped into my head.”

“So red bean cakes and coconut pastries are not your favorite dessert?”

“I don’t fancy desserts. In fact, in the Fort library, I found a book written by a priest, Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus. He wrote, ‘When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.’ True words.”

Heavens. First Euclid, now Erasmus. This man was going to starve to death under a pile of books.
