The Captain and his Princess

The Captain and his Princess

“The captain torn but resolute too,
The moment everlasting but fleeting too.”

In this narrative poem, loyalties are tested and love faces its utmost test ever when it comes to a choice between duty and love.

When enemies descend upon her kingdom in the middle of the night, the princess fights with everything she’s got while moving her subjects to safer lands. But, she’s captured by her enemies and taken to their captain – a cold, duty- bound captain known for his ability to break even the bravest of warriors’ resolve.

If the mightiest couldn’t stand up to him, what chance does a princess have?

Or so the Captain thinks.

But each day, he watches the Princess’s strength and loyalty as she refuses to give in – despite teetering on the edge of death. And it awakens a dangerous game in his heart.

The captain, who never knew fear even in the worst of battles, feels the pangs of fear knowing it will be upon him to kill the princess if she refuses to obey his king’s command. And to prevent that means to go against the throne he pledged.

What must it be – love or duty?
