Jessie just wants things back to normal. Dad’s missing, Momma’s acting strangely, and some little kid named Amber Lynn Skolfield shows up from who knows where—and winds up living with them. To top it all off, Jess has to deal with a new, strict teacher who turns out to be a real pain. She can’t wait until this school year is over.
